Frye's delight as come back heroes reach third round
OVERJOYED Ardrossan Winton Rovers boss Derek Frye heaped praise on his young guns as they three times came back from behind to topple northern hosts Aberdeen Lads' Club in a nine goal thriller.
Winton edged out Lads' Club 5-4 in a pulsating Second Round replay with their reward a Third Round showdown against Stagecoach Super League Premier Division big guns Neilston on Saturday December 1.
It was the first time the Winton Park club have won two Scottish Cup ties since 1985.
A beaming Frye said on Tuesday: "I am delighted for the lads. When you have a young team like us you are prone to mistakes but it was a tough place to go and we showed great character coming back from behind three times to finally win the match. That made it a great journey home although I don't think I could cope with those kind of games every week!"
"It's nice to still be involved in the Scottish in December, it's a one off tie and if we play to our capabilities we must have a chance. We are looking forward to the game. Neilston are a good side, hopefully we will get a good crowd and they will bring a fair number of fans."
